Given there have always been hurricanes, perhaps even more and stronger than today’s, it seems a great thing that humans use energy and materials to mitigate devastation, today, and in a guaranteed way. Shouldn’t all people everywhere be doing the same, as much as they can? What should be the focus? 30, 50 and 80 year climate scenarios, that will almost certainly involve disasters, as always has been the case, or actual infrastructure and technology that saves people today? And no, you can’t have both, to be fully effective either way…
