The article referenced below is one of the most depressing things we’ve read in recent times, and sums up the insane, backwards approach to humanity and human development that is seeping into all parts of life on the back of climate alarmism and philosophies that revolve around ridiculous attempts to somehow control the global climate.

The writer is trying her hardest to be good, to be nice, or at least to seem it, but in doing so exposes the extreme backwardness of individual humans feeling some type of responsibility for the whims and chaos of the global climate.

Climaxing in the unbelievably defeatist comment:

Scientists and climate activists will tell me that the only way I can really negate my environmental impact is to not fly at all.

Not even a whiff of acknowledgement that not travelling, not broadening horizons, not meeting new people, not understanding new cultures, not learning etc. etc. etc. etc. is the real negative influence on the planet, on humanity’s development, on life???!!!

But no, go ahead, don’t impact anything at all perhaps; make no footprints, consume nothing, make no sound, heck, why even breath!!!

The anti-Renaissance has begun, driven by alarmist fearmongering and a complete lack of perspective, and it absolutely sucks…

KEY QUOTE:

It’s not easy being green, especially when you’re about to do one of the most polluting things an individual can do – fly long-haul from Sydney to Europe.

According to the calculators on Google Flights, my return journey in December will put 2.6 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere. Once it’s up there, it stays up there, my own special contribution to global warming.

Scientists and climate activists will tell me that the only way I can really negate my environmental impact is to not fly at all.
